New Year Vegetarian Gathering

Over 100 community members came together on December 27 at CPLLA Edmonton for a warm and joyful New Year Vegetarian Banquet.

Hosted by CPLLA Edmonton and co-organized with community partners, the event featured healthy vegetarian food, cultural performances, and heartfelt New Year wishes—celebrating kindness, health, and togetherness.                 Read more

Mid-Autumn Dharma Assembly

On October 5, we held a peaceful Mid-Autumn Dharma Assembly, offering prayers and blessings for harmony, health, and wisdom. Participants joined in chanting, sharing moon-festival traditions, and expressing gratitude for family unity and peace.

Ullambana Ceremony

The Ullambana Ceremony is a Buddhist ritual of gratitude and compassion, inspired by Maudgalyayana’s act to save his mother. Through chanting and offering, participants pray for peace for both the living and the departed, honoring love, kindness, and filial piety.​

Veggie Festival

On August 30, our Veggie Fest promoted healthy, eco-friendly living with plant-based food, nutrition tips, and cultural sharing. Visitors enjoyed delicious vegetarian dishes and learned about mindful eating and sustainable lifestyles.

Tai Chi Cultural Exchange

On August 28, we welcomed community members for a Tai Chi exchange session. Instructors demonstrated techniques and shared the health benefits of mindful movement. Participants practiced together and experienced relaxation, balance, and cultural appreciation.

Multicultural Festival

We joined Edmonton Heritage Festival with performances, food, and cultural displays from diverse communities. The event promoted friendship, inclusion, and respect through authentic traditions and joyful cultural exchange.

Dragon Boat Festival

On June 1, our Dragon Boat Festival celebration included storytelling, traditional crafts, and cultural sharing. Guests enjoyed learning the history of the holiday, making rice dumplings, and honoring the spirit of community and remembrance.

Bathing the Buddha Ceremony

We conducted the Bathing the Buddha Ceremony to commemorate the birth of the Buddha. Participants offered flowers, recited prayers, and symbolically bathed the Buddha statue, expressing wishes for purity of mind, compassion, and wisdom.

New Year Event

To celebrate the arrival of the New Year, we warmly invites everyone to join the New Year Party. The event includes sutra chanting, offering lights, prayers for peace, and a joyful vegetarian lunch.
May the coming year bring wisdom, happiness, and harmony to all.
